Rancho Cucamonga, September 25, 2014...Cecilio Musical Instruments, a leading manufacturer of student band and orchestra instruments has donated some of their top selling electric string instruments to the Walnut High School music program in Walnut, CA in an unprecedented convergence of marching band and orchestra. The instruments will be used as part of the Blue Thunder Marching Band's Pirated of the Caribbean competitive field show for the 2014 season. Cecilio donated four electric violins, four electric cellos and an electric double bass.
"The school contacted us to let us know that they wanted to add strings to their field show and we were happy to participate as I have not heard of anyone doing something like this before." says V.P. of Sales and Marketing, Derek Zimmerman. "Dr. (Buddy) Clements and Mr. (Corey) Wicks are doing a great job at providing a special experience for their students and we cannot wait to hear the end result".
The award-winning Walnut High School "Blue Thunder" Marching Band led by Dr. Buddy Clements and Corey Wicks has a well-earned reputation as one of the premier marching bands in the western United States. Memorable events have included performances for the Governor of the State of California, performing on the steps of the state capital in Sacramento, Veterans Day performance on the Queen Mary, numerous performances at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii, performances at the U.S.S. Missouri, several performances at Disney World, Florida,(as well as at Disneyland), the Hollywood Christmas Parade, the Welcome Home Desert Storm Parade in Hollywood, the "Nurses" Television Program.
